I'll have a Lichen on the rocks please!

These were taken at Pt Lobos State Reserve 2.20.10. on the cliff edges in the Alan Memorial Grove area.
The orange lichen contains beta carotene - yep- the same stuff found in carrots, but I don't recommend eating it.
The lichen is non parasitic and doesn't harm the surrounding plants. Next time I'm bringing the plastic mermaids.

Lazy Days

Efren and I have been at home - a lot. He is currently on disability and I am on unemployment. We got a roommate a month or so ago to help pay the bills and we have been cutting back on certain expenses. We both have back issues and we laugh at each other with our moaning and groaning around the house. Despite the aches and pains we have slowly been up keeping our backyard and have some plans for the front.

stealing friends ideas

so my friend Karen had a black background for her blog and I liked that it was easy for me to read.
So I changed ours to something of the same...hope people like it.

Hello Friends and Happy Christmas. All is well here on the central coast. Efren and I went for a lovely walk today in the rain at the Forest of Nisene Marks. I am in awe every time we go at the beauty of it all. Nature is the timeless art I never tire of. Someone sure new what they were doing.
Super tiny white mushrooms in moss on the side of redwood. It was raining and the canopy of trees kept us dry.
We hope you enjoy the pictures.
